Recently imported by me from the USA after a long search for a fine and reliable watch. I was and still am very happy with this nicely running watch, but meanwhile my preference has shifted to an IWC chronograph. This Tissot chronograph dates from the late sixties/early 70s. A fine semi-matte black dial with a contrasting white secondary second hand on the left and the minute register of the chronograph on the right. The first five minute part of the counter on the right is marked blue, a famous means of calibration to indicate the first five minutes after the gun start during regattas. Original hands with patinated luminous panels. Case is made of one piece of stainless steel. Case measurements are 36 mm excluding crown x 43 mm from lug to lug. This watch was produced by Tissot in collaboration with Omega as part of a joint trade agreement from 1930. The Lemania 1277 (Tissot 872) has 17 jewels. The timepiece runs powerfully and keeps excellent time for a watch of this age (approx. 15 seconds per 24 hours). The chronograph starts, stops and resets correctly.
