Very rare organ of Giovanni Battista Bacigalupo, this was the Rolls-Royce of the barrel organs, this one was manufactured around 1875 in Berlin, even before he founded the company "Frati and Co." with Chiaro Frati in Buchholzer Str in 1879 . This explains it that the text deviates from the beginning of his company in 1879. The typical Harmonipan roller organ has visible pan flute pipes in the front, made of Italian pipe or wood that also refers to the antiquity of this Harmonipan. The organ is built with 25 pitches, this is also the only organ that has 25 pitches (there are different barrel organs, Clariton organ, Meloton organ, Trumpet organ and the Harmonipan, the Harmonipan organ is the only one with 25 pitches), these were also the least made so even rarer, the ones with 33 pitches were sold the most. The organs are pleasant in sound and are characterised by a prolonged feeling. Nowadays, the Harmonipan barrel organs are only built with perforated band control (Lochband organ).
Since the 1880s, several professionals settled in the Schönhauser Allee in Berlin, where they were responsible for the production of barrel organs under the direction of a member of the Bacigalupo family. One of these companies survived all the turmoil of the war and economic crises and did not go close until 1978 with the death of the last organ builder Giovanni Hannes Bacigalupo
In 1847, Giovanni Battista Bacigalupo was born in Modena Italy (4.12.1847). He died in Berlin in 1914.
