Peter Robert Keil - The Green Lady
Unique, oil / acrylic on a used painting board, signed by hand at the bottom.
Size approx. 71x55cm with white wooden frame.
Original condition with authentic patina. Keil liked to use second-hand MDF panels, whose edges were already rounded or thin - and that he could surely get (almost) free of charge.
Keil belonged to the first generation of Berlin’s “Junge Wilde” (Young Savages). His early works were already characterised by drastic, dynamic and bright colours, which can be considered a reflection of the early period of Western Neo-Expressionism. A student of Nagel and Joan Miró, in whose studio he was a frequent guest, Keil recognized how poetic associations combine with Mediterranean colour.
He lives and works now in Bavaria on Mallorca.
Provenance: From a Berlin collection (certificate of authenticity).
Insured shipping only.
