Beautiful painting by Witjens, of a farmer with chickens and pigs. In a beautiful matching frame.
Signed in the lower right in red: Jacq.Witjens
Some old-age crackle in the skye, not in the rest of the image.
Jacques Witjens painted, made watercolour landscapes and figures and was taught by August Allebé. The painters of the Hague School had strong influence on his work. He settled, after a brief stay in the USA, in 1920 in Argentina where he continued to live and work till his death in 1956.
The work will be carefully packed and sent by registered and insured mail.
